Let’s Cheers With a Smile and an Old Fashioned to Welcome Zachary Scott to Our Roster

For some time, we've admired Zachary Scott's work for his creative scene setting, his ability to get a-list celebrities to do farcical poses and the stylized nature of his imagery. So when this potential partnership came about, we knew it was meant to be, and are excited to announce that Zachary is now a part of the Heather Elder Represents roster. Zachary's portfolio is as varied in its subject matter as it is in its style which makes it a real treat to share his work. We look forward to telling more stories of his work but for now, we wanted to get to know Zachary a little better. Here is a peak into his portfolio and a little bit more about him, including a humorous, as only Zachary can do, word for 2022.

What are you known for?

Stylized Conceptual Narratives and Celebrity Portraiture.  I’m known for being very painterly in my approach. Vibrant colors and a minimal style make my work pop and tell a simple story efficiently.

What is your favorite meal?

My 12 year old twin daughters make the best breakfast team; Willa's scrambled eggs accompanied by June's pour over coffee.

What is your comfort meal?

I just closed my eyes and imagined a plate of bacon with an Old Fashioned (cocktail). There you go.

What is one thing people don't know about you?

I ranch pretty hard.  I operate a tractor and my chainsaw a few times a week.   While it’s common to get a honey-do list from your partner...I actually get them from my teenage daughter Ivy who trains mustang horses on our property.  Disclaimer:  Ivy says I’m not actually ranching at all. I’m just a "Barn Dad” , which shatters my Kevin Costner / John Dutton image I have of myself.

What is your favorite thing to do on a Sunday?

Go for a surf.

Travel location on your bucket list?

Like Stanley Tucci, I'd like to search for Italy.

Describe your photography style in three words.

How about 6 words that start with the letter “c”:  Communicative, Clever, Conceptual, Colorful, Cinematic, Comedic.

Last movie you saw in a theater?

Wow, I don’t even know.  It’s been a couple years! Last movie I saw at home was French Dispatch which I loved.

Who would play you in a movie?

Hmm...I think Mark Ruffalo would bear the most physical resemblance. He has a great dad bod, and I’ve been told that on my better days I can look like him. For the sake of entertainment however, I'd rather be played by Danny Mcbride, who is more of a creative choice for the role.

What's your word for 2022?

I’ve been muttering the phrase “High Functioning” under my breath when life feels a like a circus. It's an effective way to talk myself up! So yeah, that’s my motto for 2022. “Be High Functioning”
