Sandro Baebler Captures Swiss Winter Olympians In Action, All Indoors

Photographer and Director Sandro Baebler is known for sports imagery marked by crisp design, clarity, and an ability to freeze motion into a single, dynamic frame. His latest project with Ochsner Sport called for capturing Swiss Olympic athletes ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics. This is a shoot that would typically take place in the snowy Alps, instead, he had to capture it in the middle of summer, indoors, across four different shoot days and alongside a full TV commercial production.

With the primary key visuals still under wraps due to Olympic regulations, Sandro took a few extra minutes with each athlete to create a series of portraits and action shots that were completely his own. Working within a controlled studio environment pushed him to rethink how to translate alpine energy without the mountain terrain. In the BTS video, you see how lighting, rigging, and precision planning became stand-ins for snow, altitude, and winter speed.

These additional images have become his favorites, clean, cohesive, and expressive of what he loves most: blending sport and portraiture in a way that feels both intentional and alive. The series showcases athletes as both icons and individuals, revealing the strength, motion, and presence that define Sandro’s sports work.
